Sennics' TMQ Project with High Dimer Content Passed the Scientific and Technological Achievement Appraisal of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation

On April 28, in the online meeting for appraising Sennics' TMQ, the self-developed project "Development and Industrialization of Green Synthesis Process of TMQ Rubber Antioxidant with High Dimer Content" of Sennics passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The Appraisal Committee responsible for this project consists of academicians, professors and industry experts. Li Bin, Vice President of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, attended the appraisal meeting, and Zhang Liqun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, served as the director of the Appraisal Committee.

The project "Development and Industrialization of Green Synthesis Process of TMQ Rubber Antioxidant with High Dimer Content" has made technological innovations in the following three aspects: First, 10,000-ton continuous production equipment for manufacturing TMQ rubber antioxidants with high dimer content was built, a new liquid catalyst was invented, tubular continuous flow reactors were developed, and homogeneous continuous flow production in condensation reaction was realized; Second, the continuous polymerization technology was developed, greatly stabilizing the quality of different batches of products, increasing production efficiency, and improving product quality; Third, a new process intensification technology was adopted to replace rectification separation, improving separation efficiency.

In addition, Sennics participated in national standard revision, and the project has obtained a total of 22 patents. The key technical indexes of products precede the national standards, meeting the customers' demand for high-quality products and bringing remarkable economic and social benefits.

The experts of the Appraisal Committee unanimously agreed that the project solved the key technical problems leading to pain points haunting most companies in the industry, and realized continuous production. The new synthesis technology and process intensification technique are advanced, the system integration and optimization are reasonable, and all the related technologies meet the advanced international standards, especially the dimer and primary amine content control technologies, greatly enhancing the international competitiveness of rubber antioxidant TMQ products.
